KOSMA KATYA

Katya Kosmacheva is a multidisciplinary artist based in Almaty, Kazakhstan. After formally training as an architect and working in the field for five years, she moved into a practice built on the intersection of analogue craft and digital technology.

Working across cyanotype, stop-motion, frame-by-frame animation, and new media art, she treats physical analogue techniques and emerging digital tools as equal parts of a single language. Every piece she creates begins with a precise idea, developing an entire world and internal logic around it — a structured way of thinking deeply shaped by her architectural background.

Pieces from her ongoing Mad Tea Party universe have been shown at the Intervals festival (Nizhny Novgorod), oziñ zine fair (Almaty), and 101 Dump Gallery (Almaty).
